  I love this spot. Mother's Day last year, Easter this year.  I recommend  the eggs florentine with hash browns.

  A solid meh. Props for being open at 6 am and the coffee wasn't terrible. The service was attentive and the place is super clean and friendly. The three stars are for the quality of the groceries and the lack of fresh produce. Not any worse than any other cafe with similar hours but certainly nothing to rush back to.

  The 4 stars is for the service. Food is really 3 stars. Just meh and what I liked the most, hash browns, were a super tiny portion. It's your basic cafe with no frills. I only came here because my car was being worked on nearby.

  Homestyle cooking is not expected in the Bay Area.  But then, if you explore Martinez north of the trestle, it doesn't really fit into the Bay Area either.  Enter TJ's Cafe.
  
  Located across the wide boulevard from the Shell refinery, TJ's has the feel of a diner in the oil town of Port Arthur TX.  I should know, my wife grew up a short drive from Port Arthur.  The usual fare:  eggs & bacon, burgers, sandwiches, nothing fancy or exotic.  If you want lots of carbs for little money, then TJ's is the place to eat.
  
  The girl was with her friends for several hours on a Saturday afternoon, why not have a date with my lifelong date.  It feels like a long drive out here, mostly because you leave behind the so-called good life of the 925 and enter working man's land.  It wasn't too busy, so we were seated far from the others (I guess the waitress thought we wanted some alone-together time, she was right), and we enjoyed our lunch while the Arizona State-Utah game played and few watched.  Clean, organized place, with attentive waitresses.
  
  Hunny:  burger and fries.  Me:  chili chz burger (that's what was written on the specials board) and cole slaw.  She told me, in her short-and-to-the-point way, "The food was good."  Mine was pretty good, too.  Open-faced burger with lots of onions.  The waitress was surprised when I grabbed the Tabasco sauce, "this is hot!"  It wasn't.  The chili had a pretty good taste to it, the beef was cooked well done (I found it overcooked).  No way to eat it with your hands and keep it together, so the knife came in handy.
  
  I found 1/4 Burger down the road to have better food.  But TJ's Cafe certainly isn't bad.  It's a convenient stop-off for those wanting a big breakfast before putting in a hard day's work at Shell.  Or those looking to have a Port Arthur experience without leaving the Bay Area.

  I day ordered chicken teriyaki and found a hair in it and showed to the owner and she said don't come if you wanna do this. I was shocked with their service and dealing with customer.
